Instructions for Preparation and Submission
of Abstracts for the Proceedings of ISIT2000

The purpose of these instructions is to help authors produce professional-appearing papers for the Proceedings of ISIT2000.  Please follow these instructions carefully.

General Advice

Two camera-ready copies of a one-page abstract should be submitted on good quality white paper (for inclusion in the Proceedings).
Electronic submissions will not be accepted
The camera-ready copy should be on either metric size A4 or 8.5'' by 11'' paper with the following layout: the allowed typing area is 17.8 cm (7'') by 24.1 cm (9.5'').
The left margin should be 1.6 cm for A4 paper and 0.63'' for 8.5'' by 11'' paper.
The top margin should be 2.8 cm for A4 paper and 0.34'' for 8.5'' by 11'' paper.
If absolutely necessary, ink drawings and/or tables may be pasted onto the sheet forming the camera-ready paper. This must be done neatly and carefully.
The style of references, e.g.,[1], equations, figures, tables, etc., should be the same as for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.
The affiliation shown for authors should constitute a sufficient mailing address for persons who wish to write for more details about the paper.

Use of Text Processing Systems

Most authors will be preparing their papers with advanced text processing systems, usually LaTeX  and a laser printer.  You may download the LaTeX  style file, a sample LaTeX file  and the corresponding Postscript file by clicking here:

Users of other text processing systems should attempt to duplicate the style of this page, in particular the sizes and type of font, as closely as possible.
Two camera-ready copies must be submitted together with the IEEE Copyright Form, as explained below.

When and Where to Send the Manuscript

The deadline for receipt of both the camera-ready copies and the completed IEEE Copyright Form is
Saturday, April 1st, 2000
Manuscripts received after this date will not appear in the Proceedings of ISIT2000.
IEEE Copyright forms can be found either in http://www.itsoc.org/ or in a recent issue of the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.

The camera-ready manuscript, together with the completed IEEE Copyright Form for the paper, should be mailed to:

Emanuele Viterbo
ISIT2000 Manuscripts
Dipartimento di Elettronica
Politecnico di Torino
Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24
I-10129 Torino
ITALY

The IEEE Copyright Form must be received together with the camera-ready copy before the final submission deadline.
Papers without Copyright Form  will not be published in the proceedings.
Authors should take into account potential delays of up to 2-3 weeks for overseas mailings.

Web Site

If they wish, authors of accepted papers will be allowed to post in the Symposium web site their submission itself, or its full-paper version if available, or a set of slides to be used for the oral presentation, or any other relevant material.
This will allow the Symposium participants to obtain advance information about the technical program.
Please see elsewere in the Symposium web page for instructions about this service.
