Gennaro Iaccarino
PhD
Short bio.
I received Master's degree (2004) and PhD (2009) in Computer Science from the University of Salerno, discussing a thesis on Dna Computing whose title was "How to compute with DNA: model, design and algorithms", supervised by Prof. Filomena de Santis.
In 2004-2008 I was member of the ISISLab Research, where I had the opportunity to work on issues of Bioinformatics, Dna Computing and Web Accessibility. In 2005 I was involved in the european project W.H.I.T.E. (Web for Handicap Integrated Training Environment) under the supervision of Prof. Vittorio Scarano.
In 2008-2009 I visited The Microsoft Research - University of Trento - Centre for Computational and Systems Biology (CoSBi) as research assistant. During this period I was involved in the european project Computational Tools for Systems Biology and collaborated in the design and implementation of Snazer, a networks visualizer and analyzer for systems biology.
Since 2009 I'm working with the Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano, and with the Free University of Bozen - Bolzano, Italy.
My research fields include bioinformatics, computational biology, Dna computing and Web accessibility.
